Wild Cats

                     Did you realize there are 35 different types of wild cats? Seven types belong to the group known as the "big cats." They are :

* The lion

* The tiger

* The jaguar

* The cheetah

* The leopard

* The snow leopard

* The clouded leopard

                    All members of the cat family walk, trot, or run, are good climbers and some are even good swimmers (not the Persian cats). Most wild cats live alone, avoiding contact with other animals. Some wild cats live in pairs or in family groups. The groups of lions are called "prides."All cats have one special ability and that is to consistently land on their feet when they are jumping or falling. This occurs even if they were upside down when they began to fall.
